SOAR Cost & Fees

SOAR fees

All newly admitted undergraduate students will be charged a $68.36 mandatory SOAR fee, which will appear on the student's account after class registration. All first-time freshmen attending San Bernardino or Palm Desert SOAR sessions will be charged an additional $85.00 service fee for a total of $153.36 for the 2-day program. ($68.36 mandatory fee, $85 services fee).

No money will be collected at the time you sign up for a SOAR session nor during the SOAR program. You will pay the SOAR fee through your MyCoyote Self Service.

Students who do not attend the required SOAR sessions and receive an alternate orientation program (online, phone, or individual appointment) are still responsible for paying the fee by the designated due date.

Administrative Fees

SOAR fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Change of original SOAR Date
    • If a change of date is made after the SOAR registration deadline or you "walk-in" to a SOAR session: $25.00 administrative fee
    • If you change your original SOAR date more than one (1) time: $25.00 administrative fee
  • No Show
    • If you sign up for a SOAR session and do not attend or if you arrive after 9:30 am: $25.00 no-show fee
  • Late SOAR Registration
    • Freshman attending the San Bernardino Campus who register for SOAR after a session's registration deadline: $25.00 late fee

 

Lost Room Keys

Students attending an overnight SOAR session, who lose or don't return their housing room or buliding keys, will be charged a $25.00 fee per key. Please note that two keys are given out so you will be charged $50.00 total if you lose both keys.

 

Fee Payment Procedures for Early Registration

It is the student's responsibility to pay all fees by the due date. Fees are due on a specific date based on the date of your class registration. You can access your fee due date through MyCoyote Self Service.

Students who do not pay all fees by the designated deadline MAY be administratively dropped from their courses and a $25 administrative fee will be charged. Students are responsible for officially dropping their courses using the My Coyote Self-Service and should not assume their courses were administratively dropped.

Fees and Debts Owed To the Institution

Prospective students who register for courses offered by the university are obligated to pay for the fees associated with registration of those courses. Failure to cancel registration in any course prior to the first day of any given academic term constitutes an obligation to pay student fees, including any tuition, for the reservation of space in the course.

Should a student or former student fail to pay a fee of a debt owed to the institution, the institution may "withhold permission to register, to use facilities for which a fee is authorized to be charged, to receive services, materials, food or merchandise or any combination of the above from any person owing debt" until the debt is paid (see Title 5, California Code of Regulations, Sections 42380 and 42381).

Cancelation & Refund Policy

All SOAR fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. As a reminder, the CSUSB Enrollment Deposit is separate from the SOAR fee.
